You don't have to do it alone.
NLC is a research and service project supported by the Atlantic Philanthropies, the University of Maryland, and the Nevada Rural Counties RSVP program.
Staffed largely by volunteers, the NLC is dedicated to bringing respite to caregivers - both family members and professionals - who provide care to hundreds of elderly and disabled Nevadans throughout Lyon, Douglas, Carson, Storey and Washoe Counties.
Our members go out in teams of two to bring essential breaks to caregivers who often suffer stress, fatigue and a lack of necessary personal time as a result of their tireless efforts. Our goal is to provide these unselfish individuals with the opportunity to get away from their demanding routines for up to four hours a day to engage in enjoyable activities and attend to their own needs.
Headquartered in Carson City, NLC is supported by grants and by the donations of those we serve. No one is turned away if we have the volunteers to help. If you are a caregiver in need of respite or a volunteer wishing to join our cause, you have come to the right place. Please feel free to browse the menu items on the left for any specific information you need.
